A Loving Moment Between Mother and Daughter
This is a conversation I had with my seventeen-year-old daughter.
Me: “I bought these Unjunked Snicker bars.”
J: “Oh, Mr. Yurik said I should put them it in the microwave.” (Mr. Yurik is her Algebra II teacher.)
Me: “Why did Mr. Yurik tell you to put Snickers in the microwave.”
J: “What?”
Me: “Why did Mr. Yurik tell you to put Snickers in the microwave.”
J: “What?”
Me: “What are you doing?”
J: “I’m eating candy.”
Microwave beeps
Me: “No, why are you doing that?”
J: “Why am I eating candy?’
Me: Screams “Why are you putting candy in the microwave?”
J: “God, relax! Why are you yelling at me.”
Me: “Just answer my question, will you!”
J: “What question?”
Me: “I’m going to smack you upside your head if you don’t cut it out!” (Of course, I would never really hit my children.)
J: “I don’t understand what you want from me?”
Me: “CAN YOU PLEASE JUST TELL ME WHY MR. YURIK TOLD YOU TO PUT SNICKERS IN THE MICROWAVE!!!”
J: Eye roll accompanied by a smirk. “Because it taste better.”
